The holidays are upon us, and that means it's time to indulge in all our favorite festive treats! This year, why not try your hand at making homemade eggnog fudge? This decadent dessert is easy to make and perfect for sharing with loved ones (or keeping all to yourself!).
Here's what you'll need:
- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup eggnog
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8x8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
- Melt the Fudge Base: In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, butter, and eggnog. Heat over medium-low, stirring constantly until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add Chocolate: Reduce the heat to low and add the white chocolate chips to the saucepan. Stir constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Flavor the Fudge: Stir in the vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon (if using), and a pinch of salt. For an extra boost of flavor, try using [Sunshine Boxes' Vanilla Flavoring Oil]. It adds a rich and complex vanilla note that perfectly complements the eggnog and spices.
- Set the Fudge: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle a little extra ground nutmeg on top for added flavor and decoration.
- Chill the Fudge: Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or until firm.
- Cut and Serve: Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper or foil overhang. Cut into small squares and serve.
Tips:
- For a firmer fudge, add a bit more white chocolate.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
